Russia is at war against vodka, as elected officials aim to help wean the country off the alcohol. Want proof? In some villages, the moonshine works as a second currency. Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev first declared war on consumption last summer, asking the government to make measures to discourage drinking and undercut bootleggers.
