Rush Limbaugh is leaving New York—and his furniture—behind, as he’s sold his $11.75 million Fifth Avenue penthouse fully—and ornately—furnished. Limbaugh decided to leave when New York State instituted a temporary income-tax surcharge to plug a budget hole. The radio icon bought the pad for $5 million in 1994, and now lives in Florida. When the apartment was put on the market, some worried that it would be a tough sell because of the baroque digs—hand-painted murals on ceilings and walls, gilded moldings, extravagant drapery, and massive beds. But the buyers, reportedly a couple living in Asia, were offered the chance to keep all the furniture, and jumped at it.
