At a press conference tomorrow morning, ABC News reports, President Obama will announce that he has hired Austan Goolsbee, 41, to replace Christina Romer as the chairman of his Council of Economic Advisers. Romer, after guiding the administration's economic efforts for almost two years, will be leaving the post this fall to resume teaching full-time. Goolsbee is a popular figure in D.C., even earning 2009's Funniest Celebrity in Washington prize. He also writes a New York Times column, has a doctorate from MIT, and is a specialist in tax policy and the technology industry.
