The White House is tearing into Forbes magazine for its cover story “How He Thinks” by Dinesh D’Souza—the article that inspired Newt Gingrich to describe Obama’s “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview. "It's a stunning thing, to see a publication you would see in a dentist's office so lacking in truth and fact," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs tells The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz. "I think it represents a new low." Gibbs is meeting with Forbes’s Washington Bureau Chief Brian Wingfield on Thursday to go over his complaints. “Did they not fact-check this at all, or did they fact-check it and jut willfully ignore it?” Gibbs asks. In a statement, Forbes says, "Dinesh D'Souza's cover story was presented as an analysis of how the president thinks. No facts are in contention. Forbes stands by the story." D’Souza’s article argues that Obama adopted “the cause of anti-colonialism” from his Kenyan father; Obama’s father left his family when he was two, and Obama only saw him once again before he died, when he was 10 years old.
