Want more Anderson Cooper? The host of cornerstone CNN newscast Anderson Cooper 360 will increase his screen time come fall 2011 as the host of a new hourlong daytime show. On Thursday, Warner Brothers announced the deal and some details of the new show, which will deviate from hard news. The focus is on topical “social issues, trends and events, pop culture and celebrity, human interest stories and populist news,” according to the press release. “It’s fun and interesting to work in daytime television. The format is unique and you can really go in-depth on a wide range of fascinating and compelling stories,” says Cooper. The anchorman adds that he hopes to “relate to people and the audience in a completely different way,” and “show another side” of himself. Cooper will stay on as the host of 360 and has no plans to leave soon. “I remain as committed as ever to my program on CNN, and will be with CNN for years to come,” he said in a statement to The New York Times.
