Reality producer, radio personality, and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is in preliminary discussions with mega talent agency CAA and the entertainment company AEG about creating a new cable network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Though talks about the business pact are in the very early stages, the network is believed to be music, pop culture, and lifestyle oriented, and although Seacrest will most likely appear on the network as an on-air presence, he will merely be serving as a partner in the station rather than the face of it, unlike Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable channel. The new channel will not be a competitor with E!, where Seacrest is currently employed, according to sources. And Seacrest will continue his E! channel duties as executive producer/co-anchor of E! News and producer of the hit series Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
