Still responding to American drone strikes in Pakistan, Taliban gunmen set fire to 28 NATO oil tankers Saturday as they made their way to supply allied forces in Afghanistan. The assailants used machine guns and rockets to hit the convoy, which was operated by a Pakistani firm. It was the sixth attack of its kind since October 1, and the Pakistani Taliban has admitted responsibility for most of them. They claim to have a special squad set up for the express purpose of destroying U.S. assets in Pakistan. Most recently, they carried out another assault on 54 tankers on Wednesday. "We are satisfied by the performance of our special squad," a Pakistani Taliban spokesman said this week.
