Former NFL linebacker Junior Seau drove his car off a cliff—and survived—shortly after he was released from prison, where he was held for domestic abuse, on Monday morning. Seau’s girlfriend had accused him of domestic assault during a verbal argument. He was arrested at 12:20 a.m. and, shortly after posting bail, drove his white Cadillac SUV off a cliff and landed on the beach at Carlsbad. Seau was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1990 and played there until 2003, when he joined the Miami Dolphins. He then played with the New England Patriots, before retiring last January.
