Cleaning up at the Tribune Co. starts at the top: The board of directors is expected to oust CEO Randy Michaels on Tuesday, just days after it fired its chief innovation officer for sending racy memos to the staff. Michaels took over the company in December. His departure comes not long after a New York Times report about the frat-house culture he instituted at Tribune—it included a story about him paying a waitress to take her top off and an employee handbook advising staff that off-color jokes are “not harassment.” The Tribune Co. remains in bankruptcy.
