Is it too little too late? With early voting under way in many states, President Obama concluded a multistate tour Saturday in a last ditch effort to temper Republican momentum and urge voters to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections. “Two years ago, I told you change is not easy,” Obama told a large crowd at the University of Minnesota. “I need you to keep fighting. I need you to keep working. I need you to keep believing.” President Obama’s idealistic speeches have been replaced by warnings that if the GOP takes back control of the House or Senate, they will undo his new Wall Street regulations designed to prevent another financial crisis. “Top Republicans in Congress are now beating the drum to repeal all of these reforms and consumer protections,” said Obama in his weekly radio address. “That's why I think it's so important that we not take this country backward—that we don't go back to the broken system we had before.”
