We dodged a very big bullet with this one. The disruption to a nuclear launch control center at Warren Air Force Base, in Wyoming, was caused by a computer hardware problem, CNN reports. Of the United States’ 450-strong arsenal of land-based nuclear missiles, 50 were involved in Saturday’s incident. The control center involved has been electronically isolated and the problem is being investigated. The malfunction resembles similar problems in the late 1990s at two different Air Force bases.
