The Saw franchise has gained some serious rust but the seventh—and presumably final—installment took home the top spot at the weekend box office, according to studio estimates Sunday. Saw 3D earned $24.2 million, which was an improvement over last Halloween's underwhelming Saw VI, which made just $14.1 million in its opening weekend. Last weekend's champ, Paranormal Activity 2, came in second, grossing $16.5 million for an impressive 10-day total of $65.7 million. The Bruce Willis-Helen Mirren action-comedy Red held strong in third place with $10.8 million in its third weekend. Next week should see a serious box-office boost, with the animated comedy Megamind, featuring the voices of Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt, the road-trip comedy Due Date with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis, and Tyler Perry's drama For Colored Girls.
