It's official: President Obama has called Republican House leader John Boehner to congratulate him on taking the House. The GOP needed to win 39 House seats to claim a majority, and they did so easily. They're now projected to take 62-72 seats. Early in the night, the party flipped several crucial races, such as in New Hampshire, where Democrat Carol Shea-Porter was ousted from the 2nd district. That makes the Democrats' lock on Northeast seats officially over. Dems were only able to flip a couple seats: one in Delaware and one in Louisiana. Expected new House Speaker John Boehner teared up during his victory speech, promising the new majority will "do things differently." Boehner said he would consider working with Obama, and said the GOP hopes Obama "will now respect the will of the people, change course, and commit to making the changes they are demanding."
