Departing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said in an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer Wednesday that she has “no regrets” over her time as the third most powerful leader in the country, and that she is undecided about what she will do in the future. Pelosi, who became the most powerful woman in politics in 2007, will be forced to cede her position to John Boehner when the Republicans take over as the majority party in January. The controversial Pelosi, who won reelection Tuesday night, became the face of the GOP’s race against Democrats, with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele running a national campaign slogan of “Fire Pelosi.” She told Sawyer that “they have used me as a personification of health care and the rest … I take that as a compliment.” Pelosi said she was surprised by the magnitude of the Democrats’ defeat, but that she did not take the landslide loss personally.
