Maybe President Obama is doing some soul-searching on his trip. Fielding questions from college students in Mumbai, he acknowledged that he will continue to invest in education, infrastructure, and clean energy, but the midterm election “requires me to make some midcourse corrections and adjustments." In response to a question about why the U.S. hasn’t declared Pakistan a terrorist state, Obama said that India is the country with the largest stake in Pakistan’s stability, and that trust and peace between the two countries will take time. Obama also said that he tries to follow the examples of Rev. Martin Luther King and Mohandas Gandhi in upholding the rights and dignity of people everywhere, but, "It's not always apparent that I'm making progress on that front." The 10-day, four-country tour is the president’s longest trip abroad as president.
