The Urban Zen Center in New York is hosting a panel on November 10 focusing on human and indigenous rights. The U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People marked its 50th anniversary this year, and this conversation—along with a vivid photo exhibit of Dana Gluckstein’s work—intends to shed light on the world’s 300 million indigenous people. The speakers at Dignity: Rights of Indigenous People are Larry Cox, the executive director of Amnesty International; Les Malezer, a Native Australian of the Gabi Gabi Community of Aboriginal and Islander Research Action; Elsa Stamatopoulou, former chief of the permanent forum on indigenous issues at the United Nations; and Kent Lebsock, coordinator of the Owe Aku International Justice Program. The exhibit runs through November 19.
