British officials said that waterboarding terrorist suspects did not save lives in their country, despite the claims made by President George W. Bush in his just-recent memoir, Decision Points. One suspect, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was waterboarded 183 times. Bush says these treatment stopped plots against Heathrow airport, among other targets. "For [Bush] to demonstrate the use of torture saved British lives he has to demonstrate you can't get information any other way," said one former Conservative Party official. Meanwhile, some American officials are supporting Bush's claim, according to The Daily Telegraph.
