Hiding illicit cash in her delicates could end up being the least of Leslie Johnson’s problems. Prince George County’s chief executive, Jack B. Johnson, was arrested Friday along with his wife, Leslie, after an FBI sting operation in which they were allegedly caught accepting bribes from a local developer. Leslie called her husband Friday, reportedly panicking when two FBI agents came to the front door of her home. Johnson told her to tear up a $100,000 check and flush it down the toilet, but she had $76,000 in cash to deal with, too. "Put it in your bra and walk out or something, I don't know what to do,” Johnson said. Agents allege that Johnson had been taking bribes to use his influence in securing federal housing funds for an unidentified developer as early as 2007. The couple has been charged with evidence tampering and falsifying records, though bribery charges are expected to follow. Leslie Johnson was recently elected to the county council.
