Harry Potter cast his usual spell on moviegoers Friday: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the latest installment in the long-running series, took in $61.2 million on opening day. Though it didn’t break any all-time records its first day, it shattered its own franchise record: It took the last Potter film a whole weekend to make $77 million.
