Police are reporting that Michael L. Brea, a Haitian-American actor—who had a bit role on the popular TV show Ugly Betty, and also appeared in the recent dance movie Step Up 3-D—has been arrested for brutally killing his mother Monday night in a Brooklyn apartment. Brea allegedly murdered her with a samurai sword, while yelling Bible passages, including “Repent, Repent, Repent.” Investigators said the 31-year-old appeared mentally disturbed; police were forced to take him to the hospital. His mother’s body was found decapitated and mutilated in a crime scene that was described as “extremely bloody”.
