European Union investigators are looking into whether Google unfairly discriminated against competitors in its search results, and prevented some sites from accepting ads from rivals. The probe of the world’s biggest search engine comes on top of European criticism over privacy violations from Google’s Street View service. EU antitrust regulators can impose fines equal to as much as 10 percent of revenue for abusing a monopoly position.
