Anne Francis, a 1950s sci-fi sex symbol, died Sunday of pancreatic cancer at the age of 80. Francis is best known for playing the romantic lead in Forbidden Planet, opposite Leslie Nielsen, who died in November. “I got that part because I was under contract to MGM and I had good legs,” she once said of the role. Francis also famously appeared in the 1960s series Honey West, as well as Bad Day at Black Rock, Blackboard Jungle, Don’t Go Near the Water, and Funny Girl.
