Now we really want to know what’s in this thing. The Kennedys, a miniseries based on the mythologized American bluebloods, will not air on the History Channel as had been planned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. After seeing the final product, which cost millions, the network determined the portrayal to be unfit “for the History brand…We recognize historical fiction is an important medium for storytelling and commend all the hard work and passion that has gone into the making of the series, but ultimately deem this as the right programming decision for our network,” the channel said in a statement. The script has drawn the ire of some liberals and was attacked by former Kennedy speech writer Ted Sorensen as “vindictive” and “malicious.” The show’s producers may try to bring the project to another network.
