There hasn't been a moment to breathe for the Australian state of Queensland: 12 more inches of rain fell Saturday, sending an already-flooded river over its banks and into another large town. Officials said only about 20 buildings in Maryborough, home to about 20,000 people, were expected to have floodwaters in their basements. The area is already hopelessly waterlogged after being hit with "Biblical" floods over the past couple of weeks. Ten people have died and another 200,000 have been affected by the flood, which covers an area larger than France and Germany combined. Rail lines have been cut, and coal-mining and cattle industries have been virtually shut down.
