Hand over that password, the U.S. government is demanding of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. The government has subpoenaed Assange's Twitter account, and sent investigators to Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco demanding the password and access to private messages the group sent on the site to Bradley Manning, the Army private accused of leaking thousands of State Department cables, and a high-ranking Icelandic official. A copy of the court order, dated December 14, was posted on Salon.com. Assange assailed the U.S. for the move. "If the Iranian government was to attempt to coercively obtain this information from journalists and activists of foreign nations, human-rights groups around the world would speak out," he said.
