Behold the supremacy of the SEC: The college-football conference picked up its fifth consecutive national title on Monday as Auburn University beat Oregon 22-19 in the BCS title game. It came down to the wire, with the score tied 19-19 when Auburn kicked a field goal with just 10 seconds remaining. On the drive before, Oregon had completed a two-point conversion to level the score. Until those drives, play was sloppy and unexpectedly low-scoring. Auburn’s Heisman-winning quarterback, Cam Newton, threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns. It was Auburn’s first title since 1957.
