Ian Edmondson, the editor of News of the World who was charged with hacking into Sienna Miller's voicemails, has been fired after new "highly damaging evidence" was presented to police. Edmondson was originally suspended when documents revealed he hired a private investigator to break into celebrity's voicemails; the new evidence, which apparently comes from his email, has led to his firing. The BBC's source claims the new evidence did not implicate any other News of the World execs, but BBC's home affairs correspondent Tom Symonds thinks otherwise: "I've been told by two sources that Mr. Edmondson has evidence himself that might implicate other senior people at the News of the World, so clearly this has opened a whole can of worms."
