Financier Allen Stanford is not competent to stand trial, a Texas judge ruled Wednesday, altering the course of the $7 billion fraud case centered on the moneyman. Stanford, accustomed to jetting around the world in a private airline, built his own fiefdom on the island of Antigua. He stands accused of 21 counts, including securities fraud and money laundering. The judge said that Stanford doesn't have the needed mental capacity at this time. While in jail, Stanford suffered a head injury after a confrontation with another inmate. Psychiatrists also recommend that Stanford be taken off his anti-anxiety medications. One doctor said it wasn't clear whether the head trauma or over-medication was the cause of his poor mental state.
