2010 Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo might not be the only prize winner behind bars when he receives the award: The Norwegian politician Snorre Valen has nominated WikiLeaks for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. "By disclosing information about corruption, human rights abuses and war crimes, WikiLeaks is a natural contender for the Nobel Peace Prize," Valen said. Norwegian parliamentarians, law and political science professors, and previous winners are all invited to submit nominations. WikiLeaks’ founder, Julian Assange, is currently under house arrest in Britain awaiting rape charges from Sweden; and the United States may be trying to extradite him for his role in leaking diplomatic cables.
