A Pakistani-American TV station owner in Buffalo was found guilty Monday of beheading his wife two years ago. In the three-week trial, Muzzammil “Mo” Hassan had claimed he was the victim of battered-spouse syndrome. But the jury deliberated only 50 minutes before convicting Hassan of second-degree murder, saying Hassan “was a longtime abuser who methodically planned the brutal, blood-soaked attack on his wife in the darkened hallway of the Bridges TV studio.” Hassan’s wife, Aasiya, co-owned Bridges TV, and had been seeking a divorce at the time of the murder. Hassan faces life in prison.
