Your move, Netflix. After opening a film studio in November, Amazon.com has now launched a streaming-video subscription service that they're bundling with their popular Amazon Prime shipping memberships. As part of the deal, Amazon will make 5,000 movies and TV shows available for unlimited online streaming to members of its Amazon Prime program, which costs $79 per year and includes free two-day shipping and reduced one-day shipping rates on items purchased through the website. The price is about $17 lower than Netflix's streaming service per year, before factoring in the savings in shipping. "This is just a starting point for us," said Cameron Janes, director of Amazon's instant video service. "We expect to grow the category over time." According to Janes, the bulk of the major studio films included in the new streaming service are five to seven years old.
