The King’s Speech may be the frontrunner at Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony, racking up 12 Oscar nominations, but the “bromance,” as Colin Firth described it to The Daily Beast, between King George VI and his Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue was shot at the same location as a gay porn film. After some “scandalous” photos emerged on Tuesday, a further investigation by Movieline has revealed that the speech therapy scenes in the film, filmed at 33 Portland Place in London, were shot in the exact same room as the gay porn film, Snookered, according to that film’s director, Jonno. Interestingly enough, it also served as the setting for the music video to soul crooner Amy Winehouse’s smash hit, “Rehab.”
