With all the disturbing news coming out of Libya, it’s nice to hear something heartwarming. Daniel Morales, a 58-year-old homeless man, reconnected with his daughter after 11 years apart thanks to Twitter. Morales was taking part in a New York project where homeless people are given prepaid mobile phones to document their lives and show others what it’s like to be homeless. Morales used the phone to update his Twitter regularly to his 3,000 or so followers, and decided to track down his daughter. "Hi thi is to let yo people know that in lookin eoq my daughter her name is sarah m rivera," he tweeted Thursday. Morales then Tweeted his cell phone number, and a photo of his 27-year-old daughter, Sarah. She caught wind of the Tweets, rang her father the next day, and the pair experienced a joyous reunion in New York on Friday. “This is an awesome moment," Morales told CNN. "I am rejoicing." The two fell out of touch after, according to Morales, Sarah left the family’s Puerto Rico home to live with her mother in California. Morales then moved to Harlem, but lost his job and home in 2010 and has been living in a homeless shelter ever since.
