In the wake of John Galliano’s firing from Christian Dior for anti-Semitic comments on Tuesday, rumors are already circulating about who will fill his shoes. The decision is up to Bernard Arnault, the chief executive of Dior’s parent company, LVMH. According to The Guardian, the frontrunner for the position is Riccardo Tisci, the 36-year-old Italian designer for Givenchy, another LVMH brand. Galliano was also at Givenchy before moving to Dior. Other possible replacements from within LVMH include Marc Jacobs, who designs for Louis Vuitton, and Phoebe Philo at Celine. While it is speculated that Galliano’s replacement will come from within LVMH, Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz is also rumored to be in the running.
