Gabrielle Giffords may have company: President Obama will attend the final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour on April 29 at the Kennedy Space Center, accompanied by his family. The president already planned to be in Florida that day to give the commencement speech at Miami Dade-College. U.S. Rep. Giffords is also expected to attend the launch, as her husband, Mark Kelly, will command the Endeavour on its last mission. A sitting president has not been to Kennedy Space Center for a launch since 1998, when Bill Clinton attended a launch of space shuttle Discovery and former Sen. John Glenn was a member of that crew. The last space shuttle launch will take place in late June when Atlantis takes its final flight.
