A bombing rocked a popular tourist square in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh on Thursday, killing at least 14 and injuring 20 more. Officials say at least some of the killed and injured are foreigners, but the motivation is still unclear. Authorities described the bombing as “criminal,” but an earlier report called it an accidental gas explosion. But the country has also experienced some of the same tumult that other Arab countries have seen, with protesters demanding reforms from King Mohammed VI. There hasn’t been a major terrorist attack in Morocco since several suicide bombers killed 45 in Casablanca in 2003.
