Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is officially running for president, he announced via Twitter on Wednesday. Gingrich has already traveled to important early voting states hoping to build up support. He has also formed a campaign team and said that he wants to raise $100 million. His agenda includes overturning health-care reform, eliminating the Environmental Protection Agency, and cutting taxes. So far, he is considered the most serious candidate to formally declare a run, but he’s still struggling in the polls. When asked who they favor for the nomination, only 10 percent of Republicans chose Gingrich, according to a recent poll, which ties him for fifth place with Ron Paul.
