The Trump brand just isn't what it used to be. The real estate developer and Apprentice star is being sued by hundreds of people who bought into buildings and classes with the Trump name, only to have developers scrap the buildings or teachers scam them out of tens of thousands of dollars. Trump lent his name to several high rises in Fort Lauderdale, calling them "signature Trump" buildings and Trump International, and even making appearances at the properties to woo buyers. But when three of the buildings ran into financial trouble, he pulled his name and the projects were never completed. Trump kept his hefty licensing fees but the buyers were on the hook for millions, and more than 300 of them are now suing. Trump is also being sued by students from Trump University, a for-profit business school he opened in 2005 and which the Better Business Bureau gave a D-minus after fielding 23 complaints. The Trump University students claim the school encouraged them to raise their credit limits to pay for $35,000 classes that consisted of extended infomercials and tours of Home Depot. Trump University has recently changed its name to Trump Entrepreneur Initiative after New York and Maryland said it was misleading, and the school has been run out of Texas by the attorney general.
