The story of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden has changed yet again. Navy SEALs were in fact fired on by one person in the compound where the chief of Al Qaeda was hiding out, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. The team intended to squeeze bin Laden, with some coming in from the roof and others from the ground, but when their helicopter foundered—apparently because the hot air was thinner than expected—they had to improvise and enter from the ground up only. Reaching the third floor, after killing three men and one woman, they saw—and recognized—bin Laden in the hallway. He ducked into a room, and the SEALS thought he was getting a weapon. Two SEALs burst through the door, the first throwing aside two women who rushed them, the second shooting bin Laden twice.
