Strauss-Kahn Freed From Rikers

A judge on Friday officially approved Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s release on $1 million bail, and the ex-IMF chief has left Rikers Island. His plans initially hit a snag when tenants of the apartment building he was slated to live in rejected his living there—presumably because of the media spotlight. Meanwhile, new details have emerged regarding his history of sexual misconduct. Piroska Nagy, an IMF economist with whom Strauss-Kahn reportedly had a brief tryst back in 2008, refused to get involved in the bank's probe of their relationship at the time. The IMF later dropped its investigation. The fund has paid Strauss-Kahn a $250,000 severance.
