The copyright lawsuit against Warner Bros. will not delay the release of Hangover Part II. S. Victor Whitmill, the tattoo artist who created Mike Tyson’s Maori-inspired facial tattoo, brought a suit against Warner Bros., claiming that his tattoo was illegally reproduced on the face of Ed Helms for the film. Chief Judge Catherine D. Perry of the Eastern District of Missouri has said that the injunction would not keep the film from being released in theaters this week. However, the case will continue. Whitmill’s attorney said, “The judge ruled that we would be able to pursue a permanent injunction based on our copyright infringement claims, which we intend to do as soon as possible.”
