Fears of a second Eyjafjallajokull won’t be realized: The latest Icelandic volcano is both more manageable and more pronounceable (by a hair) than last year’s mischievous eruptor. The Grimsvotn has been disrupting European flights for several days, but Icelandic officials now say "the worst is over," leaving only clean-up to remain. Grimsvotn had been spewing ash, creating fears that it might cloud the skies over Europe for a lengthy period, just as last summer’s eruptions caused the biggest European airspace closure in modern aviation history. But now the volcano is only emitting steam, meaning that the disaster is over after just several hundred flight cancellations in Germany and northern Britain.
