Love him or hate him, let no one say that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie doesn’t travel in style. Traveling from Princeton to Montvale to see his son play for the tony Delbarton School’s baseball team, Christie first took a state helicopter to the area, then hopped in a tinted-windowed car to carry him the last 100 yards to the diamond. He and his wife left via the same method during the fifth inning. Helicopter use has been a contentious issue for Garden State executives, with some taxpayers criticizing their use for personal business. But Christie’s office defended the use of the copter, which cost $12.5 million and can travel almost 200 miles per hour. The first-term governor has been mentioned as a potential Republican presidential contender.
