It’s been a good run, and now it’s coming to an end. Longtime basketball superstar Shaquille O’Neal has announced on Twitter that he will retire after 19 years in the NBA. At about 2:50 p.m. ET, Shaq tweeted, “im retiring Video: http://bit.ly/kvLtE3 #ShaqRetires,” even creating a ready-made hashtag for the event. In the video he says, “We did it. Nineteen years, baby. I want to thank you very much. That’s why I’m telling you first: I’m about to retire. Love you, talk to you soon.” In 19 seasons, the gigantic O’Neal played for Orlando, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland, and most recently Boston, winning four championships, one MVP award, and multiple all-star selections.
