President Obama is set to address the nation about Afghanistan on Wednesday, and CNN says he'll announce plans to withdraw 30,000 troops by the end of 2012. Those 30,000 troops constitute the "surge" that began in 2009. He’ll also put forward a schedule for bringing the rest of the troops home, according to The Hill. Currently, 100,000 American troops are stationed in Afghanistan. The Washington Post says Obama is still figuring out the exact number to withdraw in July.
