The net keeps widening: British police have arrested a woman in connection with the News of the World phone-hacking scandal, in which the tabloid is believed to have hacked into celebrities and politicians’ phones. The suspect is a 39-year-old woman who is not a journalist; she was arrested “on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications.” News of the World, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, said the woman is neither a current employee nor a “ former full-time member of staff.” She is the fourth person arrested in recent months in the inquiry; the other three were all News of the World employees.
