U.S.-Pakistani relations continue to get worse: officials in the Obama administration believe Pakistani spies directed the murder of a journalist who criticized the nation’s military, according to The New York Times. Saleem Shahzad disappeared from Islamabad on May 29; he was the author of several stories about the infiltration of militants into the Pakistani military. Two Obama administration officials tell the Times they have classified information showing senior officials at Pakistan’s spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, ordered Shahzad’s murder. The administration is still debating how to discuss the matter with the Pakistani government.
