Amid growing criticism this week that his family-owned Christian counseling business attempts to “cure” homosexuals and turn them straight, Marcus Bachmann, the husband of 2012 presidential contender Michele Bachmann, has rebutted claims that his clinics are anti-gay in an interview with Minneapolis' Star Tribune. He also denied ever calling gay people "barbarians," although an audiotape making the rounds on the Internet depicts him doing just so in a 2010 interview on a Christian radio talk show. His defense comes on the heels of a video released by a gay advocacy group showing a counselor at Bachmann & Associates practicing “reparative” therapy in an attempt to convert a homosexual to heterosexuality. “This individual came to us under false pretense,” Bachmann told the Star Tribune. “The truth of the matter is he specifically asked for help.”
