The broadcaster's board was pressured to review Murdoch's role as nonexecutive chairman after his parliamentary testimony was called into question by two former employees. The hacking at News of the World may have occurred before Murdoch took over News Corp.'s U.K. papers, but he authorized settlements to hacking victims.
