A U.S. group said Wednesday that satellite imagery and eyewitness reports indicate there are three new mass graves in a war-torn region of Sudan. The Satellite Sentinel Project released images of what it says are two piles of corpses wrapped in body bags or tarps in Kadugli, part of the contested area of South Kordofan. An analysis of the images also indicates that pro-government forces tried to cover up a third mass grave with a water tank, the group said. Activist John Prendergast said these images confirm that the Sudanese government in Khartoum is guilty of war crimes, which it denies.
